Xiaoping Education Foundation is a non-profit-making charitable organization incorporated in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.  Mr. Lau Pak Hun, an industralist, is its founder.
 
　　The mission of the Foundation is to give children in impoverished parts of China an equal opportunity for education.  This is how its Chinese name Xiaoping is derived.
 
　　From 2001, the Foundation has carried out projects in various provinces in China, namely, Guizhou, Sichuan, Guangxi, Jiangxi, Guangdong and Gansu.    Project types include school construction, satellite distance learning operated by Tsinghua University, student grants, teacher training and rural youth vocational training.  The Foundation also sponsors other charitable organizations for school construction and student grants.
